Danut Muresan is a Romanian - American violinist dedicated to performing and recording, as well as composing and arranging music. He is the co-founder and music director of Sunset Strings. His name is pronounced "The-Noots Moo-re-Shan, however sometimes he goes by "Dan".

 

Danut started playing violin at the age of 4 in the beautiful city of Timisoara, where he was born. He played his first solo concert with an orchestra and won his first violin competition at age 7. He received a Master of Music degree from Lynn University where he studied with Elmar Oliveira.

Danut has performed for multiple U.S. presidents and had the privilege to perform concerts with many talented artists including Andrea Bocelli, Renee Fleming, Itzhak Perlman, Placido Domingo, Michael W. Smith, Frank Sinatra Jr, Bernadette Peters, Johnny Mathis, Gloria Estefan, Mannheim Steamroller and Deana Martin. Several of these concerts were in front of audiences of 20,000 people.

Besides music, Danut enjoys listening to audio books, practicing yoga and meditation. He lives in Saint Petersburg, Florida with his wife, Erica and son Max.

Erica Muresan is the co-founder and business manager of Sunset Strings. She has lived in Florida most of her life.

 

Erica graduated from Flagler College with a degree in Journalism and earned a Doctor of Law degree from Emory University.

 

Besides Sunset Strings, Erica is a General Counsel and Attorney at a firm who assists disabled people with Social Security Disability cases.

Sunset Strings is a group of musicians who specialize in playing and recording classical music, as well as popular genres such as jazz, ethnic, pop and rock music.

Sunset Strings musicians hold Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees from prestigious Conservatories such as Juilliard, Eastman, Peabody, Indiana, Lynn and New World.
